Sustainable University Day 2016
April 21, 2016 | University of Lausanne
The Sustainable University Day is the annual congress of the Sustainable Development at Universities Programme 2013-2016 (sd-universities programme). In 2015, it took place for the second time.
The organisersThrough its sustainability strategy, the University of Lausanne (UNIL) intends to propose examples of new lifestyles that respect local and global limits and balances. By stimu- lating research and teaching on sustainability issues, becoming a hub of reflection in this area, reinforcing the culture of sustainability within the university community and managing its infrastructures and its functioning in a sustainable manner, the Rectorate of the UNIL intends to make sustainability a focus of its daily concerns.
The sd-universities programme is run by the Network for Transdisciplinary Research (td-net) of the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences on the basis of a mandate by the Swiss Conference of Higher Education Institutions (SHK) and in partnership with the Mercator Foundation Switzerland. The td-net supports the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences in fostering exchange and collaboration among disciplines as well as between science and society.
